ccsiOn January 15, the Calistoga Community Schools Initiative (CCSI) held its second partner meeting of the school year, hosting representatives from 22 public and private organizations who work with students and families in Calistoga.

CJUSD’s Director of Educational Services and Human Resources, Michael DeFrancesco, provided information regarding the California School Dashboard tool (https://www.caschooldashboard.org). Ed Burke, Director of Food Services for CJUSD, also presented in collaboration with SNAP-Education, engaging partners in a discussion around nutrition education in the schools and the work of the School Wellness Committee.

Entering its fourth year of implementation, the CCSI is a collective-impact partnership focused on engaging students and families in meaningful learning opportunities, providing access to a wide array of health and wellness resources, thus leading to stronger families and a healthier community. This collaboration provides a platform for the district and our community-based partners to communicate challenges and gaps, and to build a common vision together that gives students and families opportunities for success in life.

The UpValley Family Centers provides coordination for the CCSI. For more information, contact Zach Guzik, Education Manager, at [email protected].
